Content & Verification Policy

Last updated: August 31, 2026

Technical repair information can be extremely useful, but it can also be unreliable when measurements, board revisions, test conditions, and evidence are missing.

TagalogTech is therefore being designed around a simple principle:

Technical information should be evaluated according to the evidence supporting it.

Our Content Philosophy

We aim to prioritize:

  • Real repair problems
  • Specific devices and boards
  • Measured data
  • Repeatable diagnostic procedures
  • Clearly documented repairs
  • Evidence-based conclusions
  • Corrections when mistakes are discovered

We do not consider an answer valuable merely because it sounds technically convincing.

Repair Case Structure

Where practical, repair cases may document information such as:

Device

  • Manufacturer
  • Model
  • Series

Board

  • Board number
  • Board revision
  • Platform
  • Relevant controller or IC information

Symptoms

  • Original complaint
  • Power behavior
  • Charging behavior
  • Display behavior
  • Other observed symptoms

Measurements

Examples may include:

  • Input voltage
  • Standby rails
  • Resistance measurements
  • Signal measurements
  • Component voltages
  • Power-good signals

Diagnostic Process

The case may document:

  • Tests performed
  • Results
  • Diagnostic reasoning
  • Relevant circuit sections
  • Suspected failure points

Repair

Where known, the case may document:

  • Failed component
  • Repaired section
  • Replacement component
  • Repair procedure
  • Final result

Verification Levels

TagalogTech may use verification labels to communicate the strength of available evidence.

🟡 Reported

The information has been reported by a contributor or appears in a documented case, but there is insufficient evidence for a stronger verification level.

🔵 Tested

The procedure or conclusion has been tested by a contributor or documented through a specific repair.

🟢 Verified

The information has sufficient supporting evidence or multiple reliable confirmations to justify a higher level of confidence.

🔴 Unverified

The information may be a possible explanation or solution, but it has not been adequately confirmed.

Verification labels describe the evidence available to TagalogTech. They do not guarantee that a repair will work on every device.

Board Revision Matters

A major rule of the TagalogTech knowledge base is:

Do not assume that similar model numbers mean identical circuitry.

Different board revisions may contain different:

  • Components
  • Controllers
  • BIOS versions
  • Power circuits
  • Signal paths
  • Component values
  • Layouts

Whenever possible, repair information should identify the specific board involved.

Corrections

We welcome corrections.

If you identify inaccurate technical information, please provide evidence whenever possible.

Useful evidence may include:

  • Measurements
  • Board photographs
  • Component markings
  • Datasheets
  • Manufacturer documentation
  • Schematic information that you are authorized to share
  • A documented repair result
  • Additional independent confirmation

Corrections may be reviewed before publication.

Community Contributions

When community functionality is available, contributors may submit repair information.

Contributors should distinguish between:

“I measured this.”

and

“I think this is probably the problem.”

Both can be useful, but they should not be presented as equivalent levels of evidence.

Manufacturer Documentation

Manufacturer documentation, datasheets, standards, and other authoritative sources may be used to support technical information where appropriate.

However, TagalogTech does not claim ownership of third-party copyrighted documentation.

We encourage contributors to provide references to legitimate sources rather than uploading unauthorized copies.

No Fabricated Verification

TagalogTech should never represent a repair as tested or verified when it has not actually been tested or sufficiently confirmed.

If the evidence is incomplete, the information should remain appropriately qualified.

AI-Assisted Content

Where AI tools are used during research, drafting, organization, or development, the resulting information should still be reviewed before being presented as technical knowledge.

AI-generated text is not itself evidence that a repair procedure is correct.

Technical claims should be supported by appropriate measurements, documentation, testing, or other evidence.

Updating Content

Technical information can become outdated.

TagalogTech may update pages when:

  • New evidence becomes available
  • A repair procedure is corrected
  • A board revision is identified
  • A contributor provides better documentation
  • A previous conclusion is found to be incorrect
  • Additional repair cases provide useful confirmation

The Goal

The purpose of this policy is not to make every TagalogTech page appear certain.

It is the opposite.

We want users to be able to distinguish between:

what was observed, what was tested, what was verified, and what is still uncertain.

That distinction is fundamental to building a trustworthy repair knowledge base.
